Lucas' Bus Stop

This is a series ended up being a 360 degree view of Lucas' bus stop. I drive half way to Ellicott to pick him up every day and this is the little dirt road that I wait for him on. Next post will be a 360 degree view of random trash I find on the ground at this same spot.

I am going to post a few random artistic scenery shots. This one is right in front of my house very late at night. I think it was a 2 second shutter release that I did hand held so I photoshopped it up to mask some of the camera shake.

Album Cover

I posted this image with a couple of others to facebook and a friend said it looked like it could be the kids' future band's album cover. How freaking cool would that be... for real.

Carmi the Ballerina

Pretty much all the little girls in Carmen's new dance class are cute, but I'm pretty sure she is the cutest.

Happy Halloween to everyone (probably only one or two people who check this blog out). The kids were as cute as ever in their costumes and it was a really fun night with Joe Halcy and Katie.

Lucas' Stitches

So this is actually the second time Lucas has had stitches.
He has 12 of them right under his chin. This time it was
only 4, but chicks still dig scars.

My Model Carmi

I finally got a shot of our sweet girl that shows how cute she is. She is pretty notorious for having a pretty decent scowl on her face when I photograph her, but I managed to get a pretty natural shot of her playing at the park with her brothers and her cousin, Aurelia. Aurelia and Miles the gorilla pictured in the back.

Sprinkler Fun

Our sprinklers are broken for the second year in a row. So we bought these good ol' favorites in the interim, much the kids delight. Here is cute little Miles looking an awful lot like a tiny white Forest Whitaker.

Smiley Miles

Miles, on the other hand, is always smiley . Camera or not, he is a happy little dude. If you look closely you can see my silhouette in his eyes. I was standing right inside our front door and using all the light from behind me. You can make out the door opening and my (lovely) figure in it.

Surly Carmi

Just so you know that I do still have and love two other kids. Here is Carmen showing off as close to a smile as she is willing to give me when I have Camera in hand. She is normally very smiley and loving when I don't have something to record that mood with.

Easter Egg Hunt Colorado Style

So we took the kids to a 10 minute dash for easter eggs yesterday. It was snowing a little and just tad chilly, but it was still really fun.

Cars Cake

So guess what happens when you buy a 3 year old a Cars cake with a real Lightning McQueen on top of an icing road?
The first shot I was really just trying to get a cool angle of the Happy Birthday Lucas on the cake. I saw through the viewfinder that Lucas was driving down the street. So I had to shift position to get the full effect of the road buckling under the speed of Lighting.... Ka-Chow.

Lucas is 3!!

Here is our big boy blowing our his candles. Ande felt that three candles wasn't enough so she loaded it up.

Lucas stops for a sec

So for Lucas' 3rd birthday we took him and a couple of his friends to a place called Pump it Up. It is a huge room filled with bouncy rooms and huge slides and tunnels and such. This was the only picture I got that wasn't a blur of sorts. I think everyone, including me, was worn out at the end of the hour. Not sure why one eye is open and one is a little popeye, but like I said, this is the only clear shot I got.

Carmen in my studio

I have finally gotten enough space cleared out in the garage/office/studio to actually be able to say it is sort of a studio now. I bought some basic back drops and lighting and this is one of the first shots of Carmi while I am figuring out the lighting. This shot actually needed a little fill light coming form below to make her eyes not quite so dark, but now I know that for next time. Even if I'm not the best photographer in the world, she is still a cutie.

Miles and Lucas' Back

We had record highs on Saturday so
we took advantage by hanging out in the back yard most of the day. I like this shot because of Miles' expression. I'm pretty sure they were both ignoring me (as usual) but Miles finally responded to the bizarre noises I was making to garner his attention.
